Monasterio Nuestra Seora De Los

07.15

Monasterio Nuestra Señora De Los Angeles / Monjas Dominicas,

Mare de Deu del Roser, 2.

Sant Cugat (08174),

Rising at 06.15.

Another mosquito bite has quietly appeared.

09.31  Two visitors announced themselves at breakfast, both from the UK, one now living in Paris. Good breakfast comments on yesterday evening on the whizzing; and on the inner circle difficulty on finding the downbeat in a bar of one.

Meeting with Special Study Group II at 09.00; and personal meetings to continue throughout the day.

11.40  Beginners Group at 10.30:

circulating in 1, 2 & 3 groups, with some difficulty. The groups were constantly breaking up, citing musical incompatibility – the members were unable to determine where one fell, even in a bar of one, or two, or three. Those confronted with the challenge of finding 1 & 4 in a bar of 5 had the most difficulty of all – the four kept moving around in the bar. Sometimes it fell on 3 or 5, or just disappeared. Sometimes it appeared on upbeats of any of the other beats. But that’s what happens when you’re having fun with your chums – time just slips away!

We are out of the Great Divide.

11.54  Personal meetings resumed.

18.13  Lunch at 13.00: a performance of several pieces by The LCG, including an encore. Silence visited & was accepted.

Personal meetings resumed & continuing throughout the afternoon until 18.05.

Tea at 16.00 with Silence visiting, and accepted. Tea-tastinesses of the acceptable kind were waiting on the tables, a form of halva I was told.

20.12  T’ai Chi at 18.30, once again in the Ballroom.

Dinner at 19.00. Silence visited and was accepted.

22.33  At the House Meeting, to determine our work for the remainder of the course, a suggestion from Mr. Russia, made earlier in the course, was adopted: that the Beginners compose & present their own pieces. Beginners will present a performance for the House in the Ballroom tomorrow at 20.30.

The Kitchen Team chose to have a Guitar Circle, to meet immediately after that meeting. The Ballroom will be available to the Beginners for their preparations tomorrow from 22.30 until 05.00.

The LCG went to rehearse in Chapel, except for Martin who joined the Kitchen Team for their Guitar Circle:

Developing Variations on a 4-note G minor figure, with moderate results;

circulating with offsets, with moderate results;

 whizz circulating, lotsa fun.
